Aussie Adventurers
Apparently I'm not the only Aussie in the UK. I even happen to know some of the people over here.
Haylee moved over here almost a year ago. We know each other from our years dancing together, which included two holidays to America. Here we are at LEGOLAND in California in 2009.
Back when I'd only been living over here for a few weeks we caught up in an Aussie cafe in London called Beany Green.
My meal was quite delicious, but a little too large. Of course, having paid for it, I ate most of it.
Haylee imparted lots of UK living wisdom, which has served me well over the past few months.
Catrin came to the UK for a holiday back in July. I know Catrin from our time starring in Jesus Christ Superstar with Blue Mountains Musical Society earlier this year. This is us at the cast dinner.
I met up with Catrin and her sister Rhian at a restaurant I don't recall.
What I do remember is the weird looks when we asked for aoili to accompany our sweet potato fries. We settled for mayonnaise instead.
Being musical theatre fans in London, it made sense for us to see a show. 42nd Street it was.
Those dancing feet were quite spectacular. As were the costumes, choreography and set. Our seats weren't quite so spectacular. Our view was a little restricted, but the reduced price was worth it.
Catrin gave me a comforting hug and wished me all the best before we parted.
Jenny has been living in London for about six months. We first met back in 2007 when I was doing a double degree of Law and Business. I lasted 3 weeks in that course, but our friendship has lasted ten years and counting. Here were are at her birthday celebration last year.
Somehow we didn't manage to take any photos of our time at uni together before either of us had smart phones.
A couple of weeks ago we caught up at the very same Pizza Express Jenny had met Shane Warne.
On our particular evening there were just a couple of friends chatting about their hopes, dreams and everything in between.
Stay tuned for even more outings with Aussie Adventurers, including Thorpe Park with Eamon, and Windsor Castle with Simone.
