The Magic of London

Samantha and I spent a free (aside from travel), action packed day in London all thanks to my Magic Pass from my work.  Shrek's Adventure   Our first stop was Shrek's Adventure where we journeyed to a town called Far, Far Away.  We were swamped with our hostess' favourite word - "Shrektacular". Forced to repeat it several times before our adventure could begin.  The experience was a little like an onion. The many layers of an onion, like the many rooms you'll enter and characters you greet along the way.  Don't be green with envy that we got to meet the big ogre himself. The whole experience lasted a couple of hours, including the terribly lit photo op with Dreamworks statues.  Stripes will be blowing up runways this season.  London Eye Our next attraction was the London Eye.  It offered bird's eye views of the city.   And the opportunity to capture photos from an interesting perspective.  Here's the obligatory selfie to prove we were hi...

London Explorers

Back when Samantha and I were living in a London hostel on a budget, we found lots of free adventures. It all started on Primrose Hill where Samantha's friend Aimee was hostng her birthday picnic.  We were invited. This hill is not something you just stumble upon. It's quite steep and high. The pay off for the trek up is the view. And also the increased step count because walking is free.  The following day Aimee kindly offered to be our tour guide. Being my first time in the city, I was very grateful.  Our first stop was Picadilly Circus.  Of course there was an obligatory phone booth photo. If you don't get a photo with a phone booth have you even really been to London? Buckingham Palace came next. Unfortunately a royal bachelor did not come to greet me. I really should've played up the whole damsel in distress thing.  This was followed by the purchase of water  in an attempt to thwart the intense heat and a stroll through St James Park.  Next on the...
