The Magic of London
Samantha and I spent a free (aside from travel), action packed day in London all thanks to my Magic Pass from my work.
Shrek's Adventure
Our first stop was Shrek's Adventure where we journeyed to a town called Far, Far Away.
We were swamped with our hostess' favourite word - "Shrektacular". Forced to repeat it several times before our adventure could begin.
The experience was a little like an onion. The many layers of an onion, like the many rooms you'll enter and characters you greet along the way.
Don't be green with envy that we got to meet the big ogre himself. The whole experience lasted a couple of hours, including the terribly lit photo op with Dreamworks statues.
Stripes will be blowing up runways this season.
London Eye
Our next attraction was the London Eye.
It offered bird's eye views of the city.
And the opportunity to capture photos from an interesting perspective.
Here's the obligatory selfie to prove we were high in the sky.
The London Dungeon
Venture underground to unique history lessons about events such as the Great London Fire, and figures like Jack the Ripper.
In addition to our free entry, Samantha and I also received free drink tokens. With a choice between apple juice and gin cocktails, we chose the "cocktails" that I'm pretty sure were more cordial than cocktail. It seems the only photo I have from the Dungeon is Samantha and I quenching our thirst after many attempted scares by actors and the mild torture of stairs.
Sea Life Aquarium
The Sea Life Aquarium was a turtley cool experience.
Initially Nemo kept himself well hidden.
After scaling the place we found him and Marlin.
Dory was feeling a little blue, so joined the fun.
I've been wondering if I might encounter a star in London. Today was the day. Samantha even touched one.
We each designed virtual jellyfish and played a confusing game. My creation totally tanked.
After a little horsing around we could sea it was time to leave.
My positive opinion of the aquarium is probably clouded by the free entry and my childhood obsession with marine life.
