Life at Legoland

Image
Life at Legoland has been made that much better thanks to the beautiful bunch of brickheads I've discovered here.  Legoland Windsor Resort Some of my fellow brickheads and I have explored the park. According to the Ninjago ride I'm only a rookie. It may be a little while before I reach my Wu potential. That's Master Wu with Cara, Kate and I.  And there's Nya with Laura and Greta.  We galloped over to Mia's riding adventure, where you couldn't rein in my excitement.  There was something fishy going on at Atlantis.  Fairytale Brook offered a leisurely boat ride past storybrick scenes.  We all decided to go left, then go right over to the Lego Friends to the Rescue Show.  Laura and I also watched the Return to Skeleton Bay pirate stunt show.  We have spent many mornings and nights in the Legoland Hotel.  The halls of the Castle Hotel have also occupied our time.  We also spend our days surrounded by miniature lands.  Bringing joy to ti...

The Adult Stuff

Moving to the other side of the world unfortunately involves masquerading as a grown up. Here is a guide to some of the adult stuff that's been involved in my big British move.  Getting Around In order commence the adult stuff you'll need to navigate your way around. For this I recommend the best app every invented - City Mapper. You might think Google Maps is enough, but that's like a birthday cake without icing, sprinkles and candles. If you're travelling on the Tube you can either grab an Oyster card or use your pay wave card.  https://citymapper.com/ https://oyster.tfl.gov.uk/oyster/entry.do If you're still not prepared for adulthood, the cost of England's trains will shock you into premature old age. Download the Trainline App and consider purchasing a rail card. The "cheapest" train tickets can be found by purchasing well ahead of your predicted travel date and travelling during off peak times.  https://www.thetrainline.com/m/ Biometric Residence...

Bath Time

Rumour has it Bath is a great place to visit when bursting the Windsor bubble. Samantha and I travelled part of the way together. I caught a bus and two trains on my own, then Samantha joined me for the final train. My day out consisted of one bus, six trains and one Uber.  You may have also heard the rumours that train travel in England is expensive. This is true. With the Trainline App, booking in advance, and travelling outside peak times I scored the return trip for £20. This was a bargain price.  Bath is quite a pretty city, even the times it rained. You can't go to Bath without expecting a little water.  For £11 each, we spent part of the Bath showers in the Jane Austen Centre.  The self guided tour began with an introductory history lesson about the Austen family.  Jane's mother moved her and her sister to Bath to find husbands. Neither of them did. I too did not find a husband, even though I dressed up especially for the trip.  I too am surprised my...
